Nervion’s Canyon, Orduña and a Wine Cellar
INCLUDES Guide and Private Transport
Type of experience:Nature, culture, gastronomy and tradition
Duration: Half day or Full day
We start our journey by travelling to the only exclave of the entire Bizkaia region; Orduña, located in the inner depths of Alava. There we will explore its important history, traditions and culture.
From there we continue to Sierra Salvada to admire the beauty of the cliffs and the views over the Valley of Orduña. We will walk out to see the impressive Delika Canyon and, if it has been raining hard recently, you can see the stunning 300m waterfall that is the source of the River Nervión, the south to north river that eventually flows through Bilbao and out to the Bay of Biscay. It is known locally as the Birthplace of the Nervión.
Our day continues with a visit to a local vineyard to taste txakoli, a typical white wine from the Bizkaia region. After that, we will enjoy a typical Basque meal in a beautiful baserri, located in a privileged spot in the valley.
To aid your digestion, we will take a final stroll through the beautiful countryside surroundings until it is time to return home.
